SAFe Training Australia: Public Course Schedule

The right starting point depends on your role and your existing experience with SAFe.

If you are new to SAFe, or want a comprehensive framework overview, Leading SAFe is the right starting point for most people. It covers the full SAFe picture and is suited to leaders, managers, change agents, and anyone working in or alongside a SAFe enterprise. It is also the most widely recognised SAFe certification.

SAFe Scrum Master suits existing or aspiring Scrum Masters working in a SAFe context. SAFe for Teams is designed for agile team members new to SAFe, typically as part of an ART launch. Both can be taken without prior SAFe experience.

For role-specific courses — including SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe Release Train Engineer, and Implementing SAFe — we recommend completing Leading SAFe first. These courses assume familiarity with the framework.

Yes. SAFe is the most widely adopted scaling framework across enterprise organisations in Australia and New Zealand. SAFe roles and experience are regularly advertised across banking, federal and state government, telco, defence, and resources sectors. Certifications are issued by Scaled Agile, Inc. and are recognised globally. Pretty Agile has trained 14,500+ professionals in SAFe since 2014 across organisations in these sectors.

Yes. The certification exam is included in your course registration fee. To be eligible, you must attend all days of the course and take the exam within 60 days of course completion.

For SAFe Foundational courses — including Leading SAFe, SAFe Scrum Master, and SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager — two exam attempts are included at no additional cost. If a third attempt is needed, a retake fee of USD $50 applies.

For SAFe Advanced and Expert courses — including SAFe Release Train Engineer, Lean Portfolio Management, and SAFe Advanced Scrum Master — one attempt is included. A retake fee applies if a second attempt is needed: USD $50 for most courses, USD $250 for Implementing SAFe.

Retake fees are paid directly to Scaled Agile via SAFe Studio.

Yes. SAFe certifications are valid for 12 months and require an annual renewal fee paid directly to Scaled Agile. Renewal is managed through SAFe Studio and does not require retaking the course or sitting the exam again. You can also renew after the expiry date — no late fees apply.

Note: taking a new SAFe course does not automatically renew previously held certifications. The exception is Implementing SAFe — passing the SPC exam renews all previously held SAFe certifications for a further 12 months. Existing SPCs can also renew their SPC certification by completing the Advanced SAFe Practice Consultant (ASPC) course.

Course prices are shown in the schedule above in AUD, excluding GST. Early bird pricing is available on most courses — check the schedule for current rates and expiry dates.

Registration includes the certification exam, 12 months of SAFe Studio access, a printed workbook posted to you, and a laptop sticker. Some classes also include a copy of Tribal Unity.

SAFe certifications require an annual renewal fee paid directly to Scaled Agile after the first 12 months. Renewal is tiered by certification level:

• Foundational certifications (including SA, SP, SSM, and POPM): USD $195 per year
• Advanced certifications (including LPM, RTE, and SASM): USD $295 per year
• Expert certifications (SPC, ASPC, SPCT): USD $995 per year

Renewing at the Advanced or Expert tier covers all lower-tier certifications you hold. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

Attendees holding PMI certifications — including PMP, PgMP, and PMI-ACP — may be eligible to claim Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward their renewal requirements. PDUs are calculated at 1 PDU per hour of instruction and self-reported to PMI. SAFe training qualifies under the Ways of Working category of the PMI Talent Triangle. A two-day course provides up to 16 PDUs; a four-day course up to 32.

Attendees holding Scrum Alliance certifications may be eligible to claim Scrum Education Units (SEUs) toward their renewal requirements. SEUs are calculated at 1 SEU per hour, up to a maximum of 8 per full day, and self-reported via the Scrum Alliance dashboard. A two-day course provides up to 16 SEUs.

PDU and SEU claims are made directly with the relevant body and are subject to their current policies. A course completion certificate is available through SAFe Studio under Learning Plans & Exams > Achievements and can be downloaded to support your submission.
