Frequently asked questions
It depends on where you are. Organisations that haven't yet identified their value streams or designed their ARTs typically need consulting first — training without the right structural decisions in place produces people who understand SAFe but can't apply it to their specific context. Organisations that have the structure in place but need to build capability across roles typically start with training. Pretty Agile will help you work out the right sequence at the start of the engagement.
Yes — and some organisations do. The risk is that the decisions made in the first six months are difficult to reverse. Value stream identification done poorly, an ART launched with the wrong team topology, a PI Planning event that doesn't generate real alignment — these create patterns that compound over time. External help is most valuable at the highest-stakes decision points, not necessarily throughout the whole implementation.
