SAFe Scrum Master with SSM certification

Become a SAFe Scrum Master and operate as a team coach and facilitator within an Agile Release Train.

The AI-Empowered SAFe Scrum Master course goes beyond team-level Scrum fundamentals to prepare you for the Scrum Master role in a SAFe enterprise. Over two days, you will learn to facilitate Scrum and SAFe events, support PI Planning and Iteration execution, coach teams for continuous improvement, and improve flow across the ART. The course includes responsible AI practices to support facilitation, retrospectives, and coaching.

Complete both days, and you are eligible to sit the SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification exam.

SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification exam (two attempts)

Attendees must attend both days to qualify for the exam.

Attendees may be eligible to claim PDUs toward PMI continuing education requirements and SEUs toward Scrum Alliance certification.

Public classes are delivered live online over two consecutive days.

Corporate and government groups can arrange a private class, delivered live online or in person.

All delivery formats cover the same curriculum and lead to the same SSM certification eligibility.

Completing the course makes you eligible to sit the SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) exam. On passing, you receive the SSM credential, issued by Scaled Agile via Credly. The credential is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.

45 questions. 90 minutes. Multiple choice, single select. Closed book. Pass mark: 73%.

Two attempts are included with course registration. Both must be taken within 60 days of attendance confirmation. If the first attempt is unsuccessful, one no-cost retake is available within the same 60-day window — no waiting period applies. A retake fee applies after 60 days. Extensions are not available.

No prerequisites are required for this course. It is open to anyone working in or alongside SAFe teams, regardless of prior certification or Agile experience.

If you are new to Agile, some familiarity with basic Agile concepts will help you get more from the course — but it is not a requirement.

Your SAFe Scrum Master certification is just the beginning. Many graduates choose to deepen their skills or move into leadership roles through advanced SAFe courses.

After completing SSM, you might:

Advance to SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (ASM) to strengthen your coaching, facilitation, and flow leadership skills.
Step up to Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile Release Trains across the enterprise.
Take SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) to better understand how value is prioritised and delivered — and to coach and support Product Owners more effectively.
Join a Leading SAFe (SA) course to broaden your understanding of how business agility connects teams, leadership, and strategy.
